Sessions with laura

“Love is really the only thing we can possess, keep with us, and take with us.”

– Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, psychiatrist, humanitarian, and hospice pioneer

Facing the final phase of life of someone you love can come with many complex emotions.  There can be many unknowns and moments of intense feelings as you adapt. It is not a time to isolate yourself.

Consider how working with someone who is familiar with the dying process and navigating this time of life may provide you with much needed support.

Laura provides a clarity of purpose, a depth of understanding and an unwavering commitment to support a dignified death. She is a vital support and wisdom resource. She was always available for both the emotional process and practical realities of end-of-life care for me as daughter, the other caregivers, and the many professional interactions with the hospice team. She kept vigil with me as we supported my beloved mother through her last days and nights in our home knowing she was being loved and cared for with constant personal & professional support, care and LOVE.

Thank you for the infinitely broad arenas of personal growth that we tapped into in your classes/counseling, Laura. The issues of life, including change, loss, grief, mortality, love and everything else we care about have far-reaching implications for knowing ourselves and connecting to others.

I lost my dad in March of 2021 and then 11 weeks later my mom passed away and then 12 weeks later our youngest left for college and we became empty-nesters. I was settling the estate which just takes time and a lot of energy and it was a lot of travel while trying to be here for my family, graduation, and then my son leaving for college with all the back-and-forth. I was kind of reeling. My sister and her daughter had moved here from Maui and I was touching on grief with my niece’s counselor but nothing like this. I feel like I have made such an amazing turn around in dealing with all the things that I thought I had dealt with and really just hadn’t. In being able see the signs that they really are still here even though they’re not here. I’m able to recognize where they weave their love into our lives and am celebrating that more than being saddened by it.
